Sony A6700 EXIF Data Guide
A practical field-by-field EXIF checklist for Sony A6700 originals.
Use this checklist to inspect the metadata retained in your file. Fields vary by file and export method; EXIF alone cannot prove authenticity or a lifetime shutter count.
Best EXIF fields to check on Sony A6700
The most reliable input is an untouched original JPEG copied directly from the camera or card.
| Field | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Make | Device manufacturer recorded in the file; this value can be edited. |
| Model | Recorded camera model. Compare it with the expected device; it is not proof of origin. |
| SerialNumber | Device serial identifier when available. Consider removing it before public sharing. |
| DateTimeOriginal | Capture date and time from the device clock; check clock accuracy and time zone separately. |
| ExposureTime | Exposure duration in seconds, such as 1/250. This is not a lifetime shutter count. |
| FNumber | Aperture f-number, such as f/2.8; use it with exposure time and ISO to review exposure settings. |
| ISO | Recorded ISO sensitivity setting for the exposure. |
| LensModel | Recorded lens name; it may be absent when the lens or export does not supply it. |
| Software | Software or firmware recorded in the file. Its presence alone does not prove editing. |

Privacy reminder
Even dedicated cameras can leave timestamps, gear details, and software traces in the file, so review them before publishing.
